It puts stress on your joints and limits your ability to move easily and comfortably. Can contribute to snoring and sleep apnea. Then there are the social costs of being overweight. As unfair as it is, there are often social problems associated with being overweight. There often are emotional costs as well.

Don?t kid yourself, if you are overweight, you are getting some payoff or benefit from keeping the weight on. It could be that being overweight keeps you from getting unwanted attention. It could be that it removes some pressure to perform. Or overeating is an attempt to fill a void inside. You need to be brutally honest with yourself when searching for the benefits. These are the things that keep you stuck.

Time and energy are costs of losing and maintaining weight. It takes time and energy to go for a walk or find a way to exercise. It takes effort to change eating habits and make new choices. You may feel deprived. You will need a new wardrobe.

One of the greatest benefits is better health, as long as you are eating health and moving your body to lose weight. Losing weight will give you more ease of movement and less stress on your back and joints. It will decrease your risk of disease. Boost your energy levels. You may find your confidence increases as you look and feel better. You will have the ability to more fully enjoy life.
